Workers at the Embassy Suites, together with UNITE HERE, have been staging a boycott of the hotel since December of 2007. They are asking supporters not to eat, sleep, or meet at the Embassy Suites until a fair settlement is reached. In October of 2007, Embassy Suites "permanently replaced" thirty-one workers. These workers had honored a picket line of building trades unions protesting non-union construction work at their hotel. Workers are demanding affordable healthcare, a fair contract, and respect on the job.
