A Voice for Cab Drivers: The Creation of the Unified Taxi Workers Alliance
October 10, 2008 05:57 PM PDT
Taxi drivers have been organizing for many years, but until recently, there was not one unified voice that represented cab drivers in the city. This July, an historic election brought together two cabbie unions and created a new entity, Unified Taxi Workers Alliance of Pennsylvania, to organize and represent Philadelphia taxi drivers' needs and rights as workers. Produced by Kistine Carolan. |
